SCANDAL!

(UPDATED with mp3 at bottom)(UPDATED pt. 2 - now with video file!)
So yeah, the new remastered with bonus tracks version of Byrne & Eno's famed collaboration, My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts came out. And guess what? They changed the cover artwork. This is a bummer for two reasons:

1. I have always been a big fan of the original cover. Kaleidoscopic, hazy, and with a simple typeface, evoking a sort of ECM Records with trippy feel.

2. This new one looks almost identical to that Stereophonics record. WTF. LAME!

The new Byrne/Eno:

So, I don't want to diss too hard...there are some fun jams on this classic, but oh-so-dated-sounding record. For example:
David Byrne & Brian Eno - Help Me Somebody with it's upbeat, fun times tempo and preacher samples....kind of like a G-Rated !!!-lite. Get the new one with some Stereophonic-licious artwork here.

Thanks for the post and the video - I had never seen that before. I agree with you about the artwork, but disagree about the sound - I don't think it sounds dated at all!

fwiw, it's not super dated...yer right...

but something about "world music" style percussion / rhythms and radio/tv samples just feels very dated and late 80's / early 90's to me...

sorta like a softer Ministry or something :).
